Spanking Art wiki relaunched!

While Anime OTK is still down, we managed to bring a relaunch of the Spanking Art wiki online under a new URL: http://spankingart.org!

The relaunch is based on a database backup from February 2012 and so it is painfully missing all the work we did in the wiki in March and April 2012. But it's the best we can do for now, while we still don't know if or when Anime OTK will come up again.

The server is running slowly, and you will have to sign up again because we have no backup of the user database.

  1. Hi Spankart, I'm glad you managed to resurrect the wiki even if it a bit slow for now.Let me know if I can help out in any way (you can get me on NC).

  2. I am probably being dense but clicking on the link gives a message "Access denied". Any ideas?

    1. The only explanation I have is the slow server, sometimes it is so slow that it gives me a timeout and maybe something similar happened to you. Please retry and let me know if your error persists.

At some times of day the response time seems better than at others.

  4. I can get on, although it is slow.

What is your plan regarding updates? Go ahead and try to redo all the March and April material that was not saved, or wait and see if animeotk can be resurrected? I have quite a few updates to the spanking blog section, but am not sure if I should go ahead with them or wait and see.

    Regards,
    Hermione

  6. I have found that the best time for me to get decent response time is between 6 and 8 am EST (GMT-5).

  7. Mine is clearly not a "time-out" problem as the error message comes up instantaneously. It declares further that my ISP appears to have restricted the access. I use BT and can only assume the server you are on is on their "don't go there" list (assuming such exists of course!).

  8. Hi roddy9uk I'm guessing you are getting this message, so am I and we aren’t the only ones; I have come across three other people on another forum that seem to be having the same problem.

  9. Hmmm.. it seems that your ISP blocks access to our new server. I never had this problem, and even now I'm on a business trip to a different continent and I can access it from there. Are you located in the UK, as your username suggests?

Could you try if you can ping 68.71.52.214 from your computer? Or could you ask your ISP if they block access to this IP address, which belongs to uncyc.org?

I'll try to reach our host and ask if they are aware of any such block.

  10. I got a reply from our host, he is not aware of any such block, the only country he ever heard block his servers was China, and he's never had a problem with the UK.

  11. I think I found something now: Try the URL http://spankingart.org (without the slash at the end) or the URL http://spankingart.org/wiki/Main_Page .

  13. I guess a Feb 2012 version is still more recent than whatever version Wikia had.

This downing makes me wish at least PART of the database could be hosted on Wikia though.

  14. Sure, we moved away from Wikia in 2008, so our relaunch based on the Feb 2012 backup from AOTK is much more recent, it contains the work of the first two years plus the work of the 4 years following.

I'm not quite sure what you mean by the second line. You mean a duplication of (parts of) the wiki on another host?
